Basketball 2012-2013 Class AA
What does everybody have coming back or any schools adding players? With 1st Baptist moving up can anybody compete with Oakbrook,Charleston Collegiate and SCA. Oakbrook has everybody back plus a few surprises I am sure. I know SCA lost their best player plus a few others and maybe some boys transferring out. What does CC have back?

Charleston collegiate has 2 of their 3 best players coming back. One of them only a junior as of next year.

Bible Baptist had no seniors on their basketball team, so the entire team will be back. They will have a new coach (also the new AD), Brad Bochette, who has coached at Bible in the past. Whether or not the team will be able to improve on their record (9-10 overall, 7-5 region) remains to be seen. They have quickness but lack height, which put them at a disadvantage in some games this past season.

You've name 3 of next season's final four. I dont really see anyone in AA really challenging them. Who will be the 4th team.....That will be the question.

I'll go along with your assessment. the 4th one will be the big question in 2013.

Here's what i know:
SCA loses Chase Bell, easily their best player and one of the top players in SCISA AA. Also two players that came off the bench but had rather insignificant roles for the most part graduated. I'm not sure about any transfers but will post anything i find out.
Oakbrook does indeed return all its players, and should be much improved after having played together for a season now. No doubt they will be tough to compete with.
SDS graduates 4 seniors i believe. 3 of which started for the majority of last season. The 4th became a starter midway through the year and played solidly for them. James Hamilton and John McBride are two of these seniors, both of which recieved All-Region honors last season. Needless to say SDS has some holes to fill, particularly at the guard spots

Richard Winn has everyone back from last year and should be alot more competitive, but nowhere near Oakbrook. Coach Pitt will be working them hard this summer and we will hopefully see the results come November.
i hate to sound like a broken record, but i believe we will be the only 8 man football school playing AA basketball, which is a damn shame, especially in the Oakbrook and SCA region.

Palmetto Christian moves up. They won't be good enough to win but they should be able to challenge for a final four spot if given the right draw. Will Thomas Sumter be able to challenge or were they completely gutted by graduation as well?
Anyone know how many players off that Byrnes team graduated? I know their best player did.
Any word on if Nate Jenkins or Shaq Bacote are going to try to play anywhere in college?

TSA will be in a major rebuilding mode. They likely won't even win the region title, much less a state. Payne, who finished as the all-time scoring leader at TSA, graduated. The guy that was supposed to take his place is not coming back next year I have heard. I think when all was said and done there are only two returning on the whole team.

SCA loses Chase but I think we will be even better. We have 4 starters back who 3 were new to the varsity program last year. With a full summer of workouts and weights I am very optimistic. Plus with the non region schedule we play which includes mostly 4A and 3A public schools we will be just fine. Also should be alot deeper on the bench. SCA, Oakbrook and CC are the top 3 but who knows what can happen. Wait to you see the football team just playing a public school JV schedule this year but really believe they can compete for a state title in AA very soon. Had almost 60 kids in spring practice on middle and JV team.
