The way it sounds then, Lake Marion has all of the pressure on them to win state?!
After NHS got down 18-0, they did just fine and just lost by a lone point.
Some felt that North Charleston being senior dominated was the main factor.
This Newberry team has matured incredibly on the court since last year. Also, they know what it's like to play on that court in front of 16,000 people.
Once again though, all of the pressure is on Lake Marion to win, not Newberry.

Yes North Charleston had alot of seniors. The mullins game was the turning point for them to roll to state. Free Throw shooting was their downfall in alot of games. the pressure is on both teams. Newberry for being there last year, and Lake Marion for being #1 all year in AA. And that Title game last year, was a big suprise for the cougars. they always start out slow and finsh strong, but they started fast, and struggled at the end. They were worn down, and they really didnt do what got them the big lead, they went away from that. Newberry continued to do what they did, and got back in the game. A credit to their coaching staff and team. I just Think Lake Marion is a different monster, because they're just as deep as Newberry. Only difference, they dont have a drop off as far as size with their starters. If newberry dont hit their shots, its going to be a long game. If they do, it will be very interesting. Just like newberry, you can't key on just one player for Lake Marion because they spread the wealth. This will be a great game. Wont be high scoring. neither team will win by that much. if Newberry is able to run, they can outgun the Gators. If the gators slow the pace down, The gators win.

There was nothing slow paced about this game and the gators still won. I would be willing to bet that if these teams played 10 times LM would win 6-4 only because they are longer and every bit as athletic as N. Two really good teams that deserved to be in the Championship game.

Lake Marion / Newberry was one of the best high school basketball games I have ever seen, with two very evenly matched teams. The Gators were able to execute the last two minutes, while the Bulldogs seemed to press a little bit. That was the only difference in the game. These were, undoubtedly, the best that 2A had to offer. Congratulations to both teams on a great season!
