Soccer may finally serve a purpose in my mind, it's starting to make the football fields look better to handle use, wear and tear, etc lol

Turf was installed this spring. Renovations are still on going. A very large video board is being installed with a very nice arch across the top. Possibly the largest statewide is what I'm told. Will match the fairly new ticket booths and entrance. Trees have been removed to give a more open feeling. Work will be done to the visitor's side to bring it up to the standards of the home side. The kids are excited and the negativity is gone. Hopefully we have a great season ahead. Very positive and respectful kids.

It does seem that way. We had some athletes last year, but negativity will kill you. You guys have athletes every year also. One of those schools I'll always have respect for. Was always one of our toughest opponents, even back in the days.

I agree completely! Knock down, drag outs for years... even the tear gas game! We'll always be synonymous! Good luck! Glad you guys are looking upward.. we've work to correct some things at Gaffney... leadership allowing the coaches to coach, kids to be football players over basketball /football players etc.. if it doesn't pan out this may be their last chance.. the main negativity right now is coming from the stands and bleacher coaches lol... I'm just as guilty too.

Exactly. Sounds similar to what we had going on. The problem is some of these were parents of players. Kids will listen to parents before coaches. Parents have be on board with the coach and give full support. I feel we have that this season.

That's a first. Kids normally never listen to parents but a lot of them listen to their parents in situations like this. They will also listen their peers and pick up on the vibe from the community and the fans in the stands. Makes for a bad situation.

North Augusta. ... Mama always said if you can't say anything good then don't say anything at all. Does that say enough?
