5A crowds for State Title

Postby BYRNES#1 » Mon Dec 04, 2017 2:15 pm

DF should be ashamed of that so called turn out & Dorman for the size of that school didnt do much better.
That first half was dead, I didnt hear the first band play a thing until sometime in the 2 qt.
It was dead & looked as if both teams for the most part were sleep walking.
The 2nd half was much better & both teams looked to be State Title class teams.

Man I cant believe how sorry the turn out was for DF, reminds me of 2005 when we spanked RNE.
This is no lie, the Byrnes side was full lower bowl, & buddy we was loud all game long!!! :D
I dont give em hell, I just tell them the truth & they think its hell.

I think turnout for games as a whole have been down the last few years. People just do not seem as interested in games as they used to be, and that includes students. You really do not see any recent grads from within the last 10 to 15years from Dorman attend games.

I think I have made my feelings known regarding the poor turnouts and lackluster cheering.

Pretty loud when Powell took over, though!

You are dead on B1.

The Chapman crowd, colors, and noise put Dorman fans to shame. Did the TV pick up the “DHS” chant? Was started by me but I couldn’t tell if it carried much. I feel like the local media could help out a bit but then again I rarely read the newspaper or watch the local news. :D

During last years DF vs BS game, the crowd was quite lively on both sides. It was a close game with DF taking an early lead but BS kept tying up the game, so it came down to the last few seconds of the game.

It was the same way with the Chapman/Dillon game which was just before the 5A game, the crowds were very excited. A lot of BS fans showed up for the Chapman game, which probably added to the Chapman enthusiasm quite a bit, and a lot of Chapman fans stayed and cheered on BS.

I’ve been going for years and the best that I can remember was 2011 at Clemson. The Goose Creek vs Greenwood and the Byrnes vs Gaffney games were very loud and the crowd was a lot bigger on both sides.
The Berkeley vs Northwestern Friday night game also had a great crowd and loud

How about the South Pointe crowd? I think they were even worse than the Dorman crowd. Don’t forget there were a lot of Clemson fans who’d have shown up otherwise.
