This is the forum for those who don't want to talk trash, don't want to bash teams, etc. Just for people who want to have serious conversations about high school football.

There was a real nice 7 on 7 tournament held here in Green Bay yesterday. It was the "Chris Greisen Midwest Elite 7 on 7 Tournament." It was held at Notre Dame Academy. Mainly all Wisconsin High Schools BUT this year a team from Park Hill, Kansas City, MO came!

The Park Hill Trojans. They had some really nice looking athletes. After round robin play they advanced to the Championship game, where they lost to the Bay Port Pirates (a Green Bay school..They are our school's main rival)

In that game Park Hill, MO came back with under a minute remaining to score. A few plays prior just before they scored they argued to put time back on the game clock, from 54 seconds to 1:01. They got it. I remember thinking "Watch that will come back to bite them."

Anyways they score with about 30 seconds left, then in exciting fashion convert the 2 points to tie the game 22-22.(Beautiful catch with feet just in near the back of the end zone).

With some time remaining Bay Port gets down to near the 10 yd line with 3 seconds left (remember that extra time put back on the clock?). Then on the last play in regulation the Pirates QB hits a receiver running a crossing route just inside & along the end zone for the TD and the entire team jumped on top of him.

Good thing no linemen participate!

It was great seeing this team come here. It was only the parents /family left watching the final game. Notre Dame Academy only has bleachers on one side of the field and most were on the opposite side- a hill with trees for shade. Some Park Hill parents were flattered as they came over to the hill, but didn't have lawn chairs and were looking for a place to sit.

A Bay Port parent over heard them, walked over and gave them a blanket to sit down on. I kept hearing the Park Hill mom say "That was so nice of them!"

One Park Hill player got a dislocated jaw and had to leave the game. He had left the field and came over behind his team and started spitting blood. After the game the Park Hill parents were telling the Bay Port parents many were going to stop at Wisconsin Dells on the way back to Missouri (That is a huge water park).

Edit: I should have recommended this wave pool. We were there a few years ago and this was our favorite:

The second day went back, when the life guards went over to an area near the front corner, looked around, then ordered everyone out as they ceased operations all morning for maintenance.

Some little kid pooped in it!

Wisconsin had their high school football All-Star Game yesterday. A little about it-

It is organized by the "Wisconsin Football Coaches Association" or "WFCA." For years it was just one game "North vs South." But a few years ago they broke it into 2 games, then recently adding an 8-man game.

8 man football has been growing throughout Wisconsin and Michigan. As the population shrinks (especially in rural areas) the schools want to hold on to football so many have had to drop down to 8-man.

Some schools tried to co-op, but the travel was too much. Anyways the games are played at Titans Stadium on the campus of UW-Oshkosh. Here were the results

8-Man: North 48, South 14
Small (D4-D7 schools): North 28, South 24
Large (D1-D3 schools): South 17, North 7

To add to above post, the players raise money for the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. I can't find any game highlights but here is a short video on the fund raising side:
