Saluda @ Abbeville (2A Upper State Championship)

Any thoughts or predictions are welcomed. I've always thought that a team needs at least one good scare in their playoff run. Cheraw certainly provided that for Abbeville. I think being battle tested like that will only benefit the Panthers come Friday night. A-Town will be focused and ready in their quest for a third consecutive state championship. Sorry, Saluda, but you will be disappointed leaving Hite Stadium once again!

I'm with ya on that TD! I hope we get our starting QB back...if not....the kid did a good job last friday.....got experience against a very good defense. This past friday, I believe we could have had some success just spreading 4 wide, and, putting #8 in the wildcat and just let him go with it. Just my opinion. We struggled mightily with what we were trying to do except for 2 long runs. That said, I don't expect Saluda to have the same athletes on D that Cheraw had, but, I do expect their offense to be better than Cheraw.

3 keys for ABBEVILLE to win.
put pressure on BELL the SALUDA qb
put more pressure on BELL
oh yea did i say put pressure on BELL.

3 keys for SALUDA to win.
defense,defense,defense.
LEE had some speedy running backs
but not as fast as the PANTHERS.
SALUDA managed to out score LEE.
it was an exciting game.
the TIGERS will have to play mistake
free and give BELL time to throw to
hang with the PANTHERS.who knows
the 3rd time might be the charm.
GO GET’EM TIGERS! GO GET’EM PANTHERS!

all-time series record: Abbeville is 29-15 against Saluda. Expect more of the same come Friday.

ABBEVILLE beat CHERAW 14-7
LEE CENTRAL beat CHERAW 14-7
SALUDA beat LEE CENTRAL 30-26
does this mean a whole lot.to me no.
i already know for SALUDA to have
a chance BELL is the key.he will have
to have a great game.where as the
PANTHERS have several game breakers.

Looking at the history of these two programs, I certainly wouldn't bet the farm on that! Good luck with that bold prediction.

Comparing scores is tricky. Abbeville hammered 96 twice....Saluda struggled to beat 96 just several weeks ago.

If you don't think Saluda has athletes on defense comparable to Cheraw, you are sadly mistaken my friend. Y'all must have forgotten the battle last year where we had a couple of chances to win at the end but lost 21-16. This is going to be another hard hitting ball game! We have had Abbeville circled the last 2 years and we are getting it this year. 3rd time is the charm.

Also think it is a crap that Abbeville is hosting this game for the 3rd year in a row. 2015 is understandable because they won our Region that year. But having it in there 2016 and 17 is BS. Shame on the High School League for that. Tigers got a lot of motivation rolling into town Friday night.
