AA in 2018
Just wondering, which teams do you think have the most potential talent, based off of how many returning starters are coming back and who may be in a rebuilding mode?
Who are your top 5 AA teams?

YEA!!!!! I think if it were not for funding the SCHL staffers, purchasing trophies and T-Shirts, we should just go ahead a mail the 2018 Plaque to A-Town

Abbeville may very well win it’s fourth in a row, but you guys are delusional about the difference in lower state football in 2A and the Upper State. Saluda would not have come out of the lower state this year and with Bamberg, Barnwell and Carvers Bay being physical football teams year in and year out I don’t think they would make it any easier than playing Abbeville to get to State. Enough riding the coat tails of the Champs......just because you live next to Michael Jordan doesn’t mean you are a good basketball player!

If there is one team I would advise you to look out for it would be the Timberland Wolves. To my understanding they are dropping down. They normally play Dillon in the lower state championship EVERY year and made it to the 3rd round of the 3A playoffs this year( Really should of won but they kept fumbling in the red zone). This is a very dangerous team that is dropping down. Be on the lookout for them. They have a lot of people coming back.

Abbeville loses a lot, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Offensively, the Panthers will be pretty stout again with #22, Cortney Jackson, returning from a 2017 season ending injury. He is an absolute beast! The last two years, I would have bet the house that A-Town would win the 2A state championship. Next year is a little bit different story. We will definitely be in the hunt, just not a foregone conclusion. But if a few holes are filled and other things fall into place, Abbeville could be looking at a 4peat.

9 state championships (’71, ’81, ’91, ’96, ’10, ’11, ’15, ’16, ’17)
and counting...

Timberland has been a very dangerous team since they became a school in the mid 2000's. The drop down to AA will make it ultra competitive. Actually, if all comes to shove, Timberland might pose more of a threat to the Lower State with teams like Bamberg Ehrhardt, Barnwell, and Woodland which all three are in the same region along with Allendale Fairfax and Calhoun County. Honestly believe Bamberg needs to play them in the nonregion schedule in 2018. Lol

Southside Christian will return almost every player. They saved their worst game of the season for their last game against Lee Central, uncharacteristic 5 turnovers and just couldn't overcome that on the road in playoffs. But, they pretty much return every player. Could be interesting team?
