Since there isn't a ton of lower state News...

Charleston Math and Science has parted ways with the coach who started the program after only 1 win this year. The program is 2 years old. The search is on for the new one and they are taking applications.

Frankly, this is one of the hardest jobs in the Charleston area. No home field, limited talent, and a school culture that is not athleticly focused. What little focus there is goes to basketball.

How are the assistants and facilities on Campus? Intriguing job for young coach looking to build a program. Is there a chance to be competitive in the region at least?

The school mainly caters to inner city kids, so while they are good at basketball, I doubt you will find a ton of real football talent, especially linemen.

The region has Military Magnet, Baptist Hill, St Johns, and Estill as football members. Math and Sci is clearley last.

Facility-wise they have a weight room but nothing else. They play in North Charleston. Their deal with Nike gives them next to nothing from what I understand.

If you were a good motivator and encourager, and could sell kids on playing there (plus you have to teach too), you could do some good things there.

I don't know a ton about him. They hires him when they first started the team, and now he's gone. Lack of winning and progress I think was the main cause, the job description says the new coach needs to have offensive experiance.
