Hopefully they’ll have a strong following.
King guides Rams to state title game in first year as head coach of alma mater

Two of the most successful high school football teams in the last 10 years met for the state 3A championship game on Saturday.

And Havelock and Charlotte Catholic both expect to continue that success — possibly with a rematch in next year’s state championship game. The Cougars beat the Rams 28-14 at Duke’s Wallace Wade Stadium in Durham.

“Both Havelock and Charlotte Catholic have programs,” Cougars coach mike Brodowicz said. “We take pride in not being a one-and-done season, but to build a program. Both of our varsity staffs coach JV football at the same time. It’s the same continuity from ninth grade to 10th grade to your senior year. It keeps continuity and you’re hearing the same message. That builds your program and helps guys buy in.”

Charlotte Catholic has been to nine state championship games, winning five of them. The Cougars have played in eight of the nine last western regional championship games, reaching the final four in the state in both 4A and now 3A classifications. Catholic also won a state title in 2015.
Havelock has a similar record of success, having played in eight of the last nine eastern regional title games. Most recently, the Rams won state championships in 2011, 2012 and 2013.

This is great news for Dillon Fans.....Havelock has always been a strong program. Looking forward to those old stomping grounds from my Marine Corps Days stationed in Cherry Point. Havelock is just a tad bigger than Dillon. The teams are made up of mostly military brats from Air Base as its one of the biggest employers around there. These games should be quite entertaining.

Good news. Love to see new faces on the schedule rather than the old Latta/Mullins. Hopefully we can get a game this year with someone as well. Spice up the season a little bit

Wish fort could play Dillon. Tired of colleton county. Dillon is a way more of a challenge that fans would get their money worth whether it's behind the great white walls or even at bagwell stadium, or even Alcoa from up here in then Knoxville area. ( Mention it in another post). I do plan on taking a Dillon game at Dillon this year. Just because of the atmosphere

It is but saw a team from near Memphis came to North Charleston high for a game the season before last. But Alcoa vs Dillon would be worth the price. When I first moved here all I hear was Alcoa and Maryville and for good reasons. But would settle for a fort d vs Dillon game. i do come home most weekends so taking in a Dillon game wouldn't be an issue. Lol

Wow...Newcat's hometown Rams gonna tangle with the mighty Cats. This will be a great 2 game series with hopes of it going on for many years.
And actually Pittbull....the team is mainly local boys with about a quarter or less of the military brats.
I'm definitely making the trip to Dillon from Charlotte for this one. 8-)
Maybe this year is the year of the CAT...either Bobcat or Bearcat!!!!!!
